PEEC (Program for an Engineering Education Community)

Apply to join the PEEC Living-Learning Community
Please complete the PEEC application only if you are interested in participating and agree to the requirements discussed below. Applicants will be informed whether or not they have been accepted to PEEC before June orientation.

WHAT IS PEEC?
PEEC is a service-oriented living learning community program for first-year freshman engineering students in the LMU Seaver College of Science and Engineering.

As a PEEC participant, you will be required to:
1. Reside in the PEEC Learning Community in Del Rey South. Dedicate your time to the PEEC community’s study, service, and social activities.

2. Participate in the PEEC Los Angeles Experience. Participants are expected to check in to campus early for the Explore LA activities (August 26th, the Wednesday before fall classes begin).

3. Enroll in ENGR 198, Exploring Engineering during the spring semester. The course is focused on engineering service projects and designed to help first-year freshman engineering students navigate challenges, explore opportunities, and collaborate on community service projects that help foster LMU’s mission.

There is a $100 program fee to participate in PEEC. The fee will be charged to the students’ accounts at the beginning of the fall semester and covers the costs for most meals, transportation and other expenses of the program.
