About the Speaker
Christie Havey Smith is an author who specializes in fiction and narrative non-fiction literature. She worked in the film business for several years, but her interest in character struggle did not stay tied to the screen. Christie completed her master's degree in theology from Loyola Marymount University with a focus in spiritual direction. She has developed workshops to empower adults and young people to listen consciously and respond courageously to their living stories. Over the last decade, Christie has worked to empower young people through organizations in Los Angeles such as Write Girl, St. Monica’s Youth Ministry, Good Shepherd Shelter,  and the Young Writers’ Conference. Christie is the author of From Three Feet off the Ground.
