Mission Day 2014: "Why Beauty Matters . . . And Not Just in Art"

"Why Beauty Matters . . . And Not Just in Art" will be the topic of this year’s Mission Day keynote address by Dana Gioia, acclaimed poet, former chair of the National Endowment for the Arts, and currently Judge Widney Professor of Poetry and Public Culture at USC.  During his visit to LMU, Professor Gioia will also read from his poetry. 

Mission Day Schedule:

  • 12:15 p.m. - Keynote Address, Sacred Heart Chapel

  • 1 p.m. - Sculpture Garden Luncheon

  • 4:30 p.m. - Poetry Reading, Von der Ahe Suite, Hannon Library

  • 5:15 p.m. - Conculding Reception, Von der Ahe Suite, Hannon Library
