We all have a story to tell. What is your story? Honor the writer within and spark that story than needs to be told. The Writer’s Key workshop is designed to unlock your creativity and open the door for your most sacred stories. Taught by spiritual director-author Christie Havey Smith and journalist-author Jen Jones Donatelli, this workshop is designed to be introspective, interactive – and, above all, inspiring – for anyone with an interest in writing. Our workshop will help you find your writer’s key to identify your true voice, regain wonder, and choose your adventure. Join us and discover your journey's direction and your story's larger purpose.
Please register soon as space may be limited. In the event the workshop is canceled, participants will be notified by Wednesday, the week of the workshop. Registration fees are refunded only if the workshop is canceled; no refund for partial attendance or no-show. Make sure arrive a few minutes early the morning of the workshop to join us for tea and coffee.
Christie Havey Smith is a Los Angeles-based author who specializes in narrative non-fiction literature. She teaches a variety of writing workshops throughout the L.A. area, empowering both adults and children to find their true voices, overcome their inner critics and write themselves further into their own lives. Christie studied television and film writing at Ohio University, and her first manuscripts were screenplays. Christie brought her passion for the human condition back to academia where she studied spirituality and earned a Masters of Arts in Theology from Loyola Marymount University.
Jen Jones Donatelli is the founder of Creative Groove, an online education hub that offers affordable courses in all things creative. A seasoned full-time freelancer, Jen has written more than 500 published pieces for various print and online outlets in all areas of interest. She is also an associate editor and photographer for the Los Angeles edition of Thrillist. Along with contributing to various publications, Jen has authored more than 45 middle-grade non-fiction books for publishers like Enslow Publishing and Capstone Press. Her copywriting portfolio is wide and includes clients ranging from women’s websites to B2B to movie studios.
