Ryan Leaf was one of the most promising pro football players of his time and played with the San Diego Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks. Despite his tremendous athletic talent, his struggle to manage the high expectations of others and obsession with winning and prestige led him down a path of self-destructive behavior and a public battle with substance misuse that ended in a prison cell.
Today, Ryan works as program ambassador for Transcend Recovery Community and uses his story to reach those struggling with addiction and mental health challenges.
After Ryan’s presentation, an LMU Students in Recovery panel will share their personal stories and participate in a candid Q&A with the audience. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
