LLS is pleased to host canción del Inmigrante, a musical play depicting the stories of migrant workers to the US with an original score of Corridos by the Latin Folk World Music group Cuñao, the intricate shadow puppetry by One Grain of Sand Puppet Theater, and dance by The Mijas Danza Xicana. In the spirit of El Teatro Campesino, founded by Luiz Valdez, a farmworker and playwright who worked alongside Cesar Chavez and mobilized migrant workers through theatrical arts, Canción del Inmigrante comes to LLS to build community through song, dance, and theater. This rare performance is not to be missed. LLS students Vivian Martinez and Mariela de Loera will share introductory remarks on their immigrant workers' rights advocacy. Professors Jonathan Harris and Kathleen Kim will moderate.

Co-sponsored by LARC, Office of Student Affairs, LIJC, IMLS, La Raza, APALSA, BLSA, PILF, and Loyola Labor & Employment Law Society.
