About this Event
1955 Ignatian Circle, Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, CA 90045, USA
The Laband Art Gallery is pleased to present a collaborative art installation conceived by internationally-recognized Mexican artist Betsabeé Romero with José Garcia Moreno and David Garden, both faculty in LMU’s School of Film & Television. Titled “Caravan,” this exhibition employs Romero’s signature reworking of craft traditions to address the conditions faced by immigrants in our contemporary moment. In addition to work in paper, fabric, metal, and rubber, Romero’s visuals will be translated into an experimental animation piece that echoes liminal states of migration.
The exhibition Caravan was organized in partnership with the Academy of Catholic Thought & Imagination, the School of Film & Television, and the Latino Arts Project in Dallas, TX.
