LMU Center for Religion and Spirituality and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Office for Religious Education invite you to the 2015 Los Angeles Religious Education Congress Film Showcase at the Anaheim Convention Center on Friday, March 13.
Including sneak peeks at future films, the 9th Congress Film Showcase will feature the 2015 documentary It Happened Here. Through the intimate portraits of five student survivors, It Happened Here exposes the alarming pervasiveness of sexual assault on college campuses, the institutional cover-ups and the failure to protect students, and follows their fight for accountability and change on campus and in federal court.
A public Q&A with It Happened Here Producer Marjorie Schwartz Nielsen moderated by Sr. Rose Pacatte, F.S.P. will follow the screening.
Join us before the program at 7:15 p.m. for an advanced screening of NBC’s A.D. The Bible Continues pilot episode. A.D. The Bible Continues picks up where the smash hit miniseries The Bible left off, continuing the greatest story ever told and exploring the exciting and inspiring events that followed the Crucifixion of Christ.
The 9th Congress Film Showcase is sponsored by the LMU Center for Religion and Spirituality, LMU School of Film and Television, Family Theater Productions, and A.D. The Bible Continues, with support from LMU Graduate Theological Studies, Catholics in Media Associates (CIMA), and Liturgical Press.

About It Happened Here
It Happened Here, a compelling new documentary from director Lisa F. Jackson and producer Marjorie Schwartz Nielsen, explores sexual assault on campuses through the personal testimonials of five survivors who transform their experiences into a springboard for change. In raw and intimate interviews, the students describe surviving sexual assault only to be met with apathy, disbelief, blame and retaliation from the authorities when they tried to report the crime. When they tried to get justice, they were ignored, belittled and shamed, while their attackers remained on campus with impunity. But instead of hiding away in shame, they chose to speak out, and found a way to force institutional change. www.ithappenedhere.org
About A.D. The Bible Continues
From executive producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett comes an uplifting spiritual journey through the later chapters of biblical history. A.D. The Bible Continues picks up where the smash hit miniseries The Bible left off, continuing the greatest story ever told and exploring the exciting and inspiring events that followed the Crucifixion of Christ. The immediate aftermath of Christ's death had a massive impact on his disciples, his mother, Mary, and key political and religious leaders of the era, completely altering the entire world in an instant. Beginning at that fateful moment of the Crucifixion and the Resurrection, A.D. The Bible Continues will focus on the disciples who had to go forward and spread the teachings of Christ to a world dominated by political unrest, and the start of a whole new religion that would dramatically reshape the history of the world. www.nbc.com/ad-the-bible-continues
