Tuesday Afternoon at A Place Called Home
Hosts: Sr. Pat Connor, RSHM, with Sr. Luísa Almendra, RSHM
Co-sponsored with the Division of Mission, Office of Mission and Identity
The RSHM sisters, especially Sr. Pat Connor, RSHM, were instrumental in helping to establish and support A Place Called Home. The mission of this organization is to empower youth in South Central Los Angeles through a vibrant array of programs in the arts, educational enrichment, academic support and wellness that are designed “to inspire, encourage, and support the next generation in achieving social, emotional, and economic success.” Meet Sr. Pat and the youth at A Place Called Home to bear witness to one example of how the RSHM charism is being expressed in Los Angeles today.
A shuttle will be provided for up to 20 participants. LMU faculty, staff, and students will have priority, but RSHM-affiliated individuals are also encouraged to participate.
