Alumni Malaika Billups speaks on her career paths, and strategies to build equity in the city of Los Angeles. 
As the creator and former leader of the City's Office of Workplace Equity, Ms. Billups balanced her focus and passion on the development of both protective mechanisms such development of a new, universally applicable Workplace Equity Policy and enforcement procedures, to the proactive culture-enhancing initiatives which serve to galvanize leadership, create a coalition of support of peers and other figures of influence both within and outside of the City, and engage the workforce from the entry ranks to the top.

Prior to her full-time commitment to DEI initiatives, Ms. Billups developed a strong foundation of equity and justice through her extensive legal experience representing and advising private and public employers in a wide variety of employment matters (including claims regarding discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, slander, libel, and various Labor Code violations).
