About the Author's Work

"We consume stories by how we eat. The way we eat is how we tell stories.”

That was the ingredient behind Weiko Lin’s book “Crazy Screenwriting Secrets: How to Capture a Global Audience (Michael Wiese Productions, 2019) / Traditional Chinese edition - 好萊塢劇本創作術 (Briefing Press, 2022) where he breaks down the craft of feature screenwriting through a culinary approach. The first half of the book guides the reader in how to create and develop: Story Idea, Characters, One Page Step Outline, and the solid script. In the second half, the book covers professional business side of the ever-changing industry by taking the reader through the work flow of Hollywood. As media giants like Netflix, Amazon, and Disney produce international scripted local language content, the book also explores how to work creatively with international countries like China in producing movies that resonate with a global audience. In correlation with the Chinese edition of his book, the author created the official Simplified and Traditional Chinese template for the number one best selling professional screenwriting software Final Draft in 2023.
