Fischmann Family Distinguished Lecture: "Tchotchkes: American Yiddish Material Culture After World War II"

Join the Jewish Studies Program at LMU for an evening featuring Jeffrey Shandler, Ph.D., author and Distinguished Professor of Jewish Studies at Rutgers University. Shandler has authored numerous books on modern and contemporary Jewish culture, Holocaust remembrance and the role broadcasting, photography, film and other media play in Jewish life.

Following the lecture, there will be a Q & A moderated by Miri Koral, CEO and founding director of the California Institute for Yiddish Culture and Language. A gallery showcasing colorful portraiture of local Yiddishists, by artist Silvia Wagensberg, will also be on display.
