Movie Screening of Gook (2017)

 

To commemorate Black History Month, the Center for Asian Business, Asian Pacific Student Services, Black Student Services and Korean American Student Association are hosting the movie Gook (2017).

Gook depicts Korean Americans Eli and Daniel own a struggling shoe store in the heart of Los Angeles and have an unlikely friendship with 11-year-old Kamila. As the 1992 LA riots break out following the Rodney King verdict, the trio must defend the store while learning the true meaning of family, and contemplating the future of their personal dreams.
