Join us for an open lecture on contemporary Greek music and dance by Prof. Alexandros Kyriakidis (MDGK 4450: Modern Greek History and Society) hosted by the Basil P. Caloyeras Center for Modern Greek Studies.

There will be live performances of Greek music and dance, including songs by Giorgos Ntalaras, Stratos Dionysiou, Sotiria Mpellou, Giannis Parios, Haris Alexiou, and Pyx Lax, as well as the dances of Zeibekiko, Hasapiko/Sirtaki, Kalamatiano, and Hasaposerviko.

The event will include a brief overview of contemporary Greek music and dance, as well as short dancing tutorials with plenty of opportunities for anyone wishing to actively participate!

The event is open to the community.
