ACTI is excited to announce our partnership with Brinca Taller de Animación to bring Home Is Somewhere Else to campus. This groundbreaking animated documentary, the first feature film by Brinca Taller de Animación, has been showcased at film festivals around the world. The film shares the powerful stories of three young migrants who are part of undocumented families in the United States. As part of the event, ACTI will host a panel discussion that is open to the general public. We are honored to welcome the film's director to campus, where he will engage in a dialogue with faculty and staff members of the LMU community who possess extensive expertise in immigration to the United States.

Jorge Villalobos  is a director and producer, known for Home is Somewhere Else (2022), Pasajera (1997) and Cabeza Hueca (1990).

María Barragán (she/ella) joined LMU as the director of the Undocumented Student Support Services in 2023.

José García Moreno is the Director of ACTI. He is also Faculty teaching animation at LMU, while serving as Special Assistant to the Provost.
