During the 2024 election season, immigrants and their families have become major targets of political disinformation campaigns. Voters frequently hear them falsely branded as fraudulent voters, dangerous criminals, political tools, or even prisoners on the loose. What is political disinformation, and why are immigrants such a target? What is at stake ethically and theologically when disinformation goes unchecked? What challenges and opportunities does this current landscape of disinformation offer to people of good will, including people of faith?
