Led by Applied Child Developmental Psychology Core professors Alexandra Sturm, Diana Santacrose, and Maria Pizzano, the workshop is designed to support parents and families in the transition to school.
The shift from early childhood education to elementary school is an exciting time for families. But it can be challenging to know what to expect and how best to prepare a child for the transition, or even how early to begin preparing them, given their unique strengths. In this workshop, we will focus on one research-proven developmental predictor of successful kindergarten transition:
During the workshop, the topic will be introduced, and skills to address the topic with your child will be presented. Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to practice the skills and support early childhood development research at LMU by providing workshop feedback, which will be used solely for research purposes, and is voluntary and not required.
Participation is limited to 40 parents. Attendees must RSVP here. Free childcare will be provided by LMU students. For more information, contact childpsych@lmu.edu.
