Lawrence Weschler Remembers Legendary Neurologist Oliver Sacks
Author and former staff writer for The New Yorker Lawrence Weschler began working with Oliver Sacks in the 1980s with the intention of writing a profile about the neurologist. Despite years of work Dr. Sacks requested that Weschler abandon the piece for personal reasons but the two remained friends. Towards the end of his life Sacks encouraged Weschler to revisit the profile again. The result? And How Are You, Dr. Sacks? Lawrence Weschler will lecture on his new biographical memoir about the British neurologist, naturalist, author, and science historian. Mr. Weschler will also discuss his career in journalism and the craft of writing narrative nonfiction.
