We are thrilled to welcome Scott Kirby, CEO of United Airlines, as part of our Leadership in the C-Suite series. 

Kirby brings more than three decades of leadership experience in the airline industry. Before becoming CEO of United Airlines (also celebrating its centennial in 2026), he served as the company’s president from 2016 to 2020, overseeing operations, marketing, sales, alliances, network planning, and revenue management. As CEO, he has helped lead the world’s largest airline through a significant cultural transformation and period of strategic growth.

Before joining United, Kirby served as president of American Airlines and US Airways. He began his career at the Pentagon and in the technology sector and holds degrees from the U.S. Air Force Academy and George Washington University. He also serves on the International Air Transport Association Board of Governors and chairs the Star Alliance Chief Executive Board.
