#learning, teaching, honorsModerated by:
Vandana Thadani, PhD, Director Honors Program
Dorothea Herreiner, PhD, CTE Director
Are you a past, current, or future instructor in the University Honors Program? If so, please join us in this informal discussion about learning and teaching in Honors. Questions we will consider: What differentiates learning and teaching in Honors classes from other classes? How do Honors students differ (do they differ?) from their LMU peers? How do (can or should) LMU Honors classes, situated in the Jesuit traditions of this university, differ from Honors offerings elsewhere? Are there strategies, pedagogies, or assignments that have worked or flopped in the Honors context in general, or in your particular Honors courses? Our hope is to share ideas and experiences about what works and doesn’t work in the Honors classroom. Please bring stories, questions, confusions, or ideas for pedagogy or coursework that you have loved, struggled over, or wanted to try out (or bring only yourself and a desire to simply be part of this conversation).
Refreshments (good ones!) will be served. Please RSVP to teachers@lmu.edu or x85866.
This program will be video and audio taped and may be podcast. By your willing participation in the program, you expressly and irrevocably consent to be photographed, videotaped and/or audio taped and quoted/cited. The films, tapes, and other digital recordings will become the property of the Center of Teaching Excellence, LMU.
