Lecture: "California Taxes - The Advocate's Perspective"

The Paul A. Grosch Lecture Series welcomes Susan Maples, CPA, the Franchise Tax Board’s Taxpayers’ Rights Advocate. She will discuss the current state of California taxation and provide a brief glimpse into the past when Californians filed stand-alone tax returns. Since then, there have been many changes in California and federal tax laws for both individuals and business entities; and, now with the Tax Cut and Jobs Act, California income tax laws are once again considerably different from federal law. Ms. Maples will share her perspective on these changes and how they may affect you.
