Greetings! As a member of the LMU Music community, we are hoping you can join us this Thursday for a Listening Session intended to address structural biases and inequity within the department.

The Listening Session will take place on Thursday, October 29 from 4:30-6pm PDT, and is an ASLMU Initiative in collaboration with LMU Music and the College of Communication and Fine Arts. This is one of many future workshops aimed to support university initiatives to address institutional inequity and ensure that the university and department is inclusive to the needs of all students.

This Listening Session will be student-led and invites all Music majors and minors, students enrolled in ensemble classes, and recent alums to give honest feedback and voice any concerns regarding the Department, free from faculty presence. Camille Orozco ('22), Zach Birdsall (‘21), and Gabrielle Poma (‘21) will be facilitating this listening session. In addition, Dean Bryant Keith Alexander, Interim Chair T.J. Harper, and Dr. Martha Masters will be present to take note of student testimonies. Your statements will be kept anonymous and will be shared with faculty at any point.

If you have any questions or concerns prior to the session, please Camille at
