The LMU Center for Religion and Spirituality invites you to this two-part Facebook Live forum moderated by Gilbert Sunghera, S.J.

The novel coronavirus pandemic continues to grip much of the world and Catholic parishes in the United States have started reopening under a variety of new norms.   Can we fine-tune our current practices to better reflect the Spirit of the Liturgy, while keeping congregants, ministers and clergy safe, both in our immediate and long term responses?

Two Wednesday midday 90-minute interactive forums will bring together a liturgist and a professor of public health to examine current practices and creatively think of improved processes.  The two forums will focus on both indoor and outdoor liturgies.

Panelists

  • Johan van Parys, Ph.D., director of Liturgy and the Sacred Arts, The Basilica of Saint Mary, Minneapolis
  • Michael Rozier, S.J., Ph.D., assistant professor of Health Management and Policy, College for Public Health and Social Justice, St. Louis University
  • Gilbert Sunghera, S.J., M.Arch., Moderator, associate professor of Architecture, University of Detroit Mercy
