In thisworkshop, participants will learn tools, techniques, and philosophies for teaching yoga in both public and private schools, focusing on grades K-5 with some discussion of upper grades. Topics discussed: understanding developmental stages and learning styles for optimum teaching; class structure, lesson planning and curriculum development; how to teach pranayama and meditation to children; how to share asana in a fun and safe way; approaching philosophy in the kids classroom; combining classroom management with yoga; understanding differences between studio and school culture, incorporating art and creativity.
Online registration is open (click Buy Tickets button). In the event the workshop is canceled, participants will be notified by Wednesday, the week of the workshop. Registration fees are refunded only if the workshop is canceled; no refund for partial attendance or no-show.

About the Speaker
Sarah Herrington, M.F.A. is a youth yoga teacher and an advocate for meditation, yoga and creativity. She is a lecturer and administrator of the Graduate Yoga Studies (M.A.) Program at Loyola Marymount University. She previously taught yoga in NYC public schools for years, and out of that founded OM Schooled Teacher Trainings, training others to teach yoga to youth.
