The LMU Center for Religion and Spirituality invites you to this two-morning retreat lead by Christopher Chapple, Ph.D. and Maureen Shannon-Chapple.

Gathering on the mornings of January 8 and 15, participants will experiernce and learn mindfulness techniques by practicing Buddhist meditation as taught in the Theravada traditions of southeast Asia. The location for this experience will be the Benedict Canyon Retreat House of InsightLA, a nonprofit center established by Trudy Goodman and one of the significant centers for yoga in Los Angeles.

About the Retreat Leaders
Christopher Key Chapple, Ph.D. is the Doshi Professor of Indic and Comparative Theology and founding director of Yoga Studies at LMU. He has authored more than twenty books, including the recent Living Landscapes: Meditations on the Elements in Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain Yogas.

Maureen Shannon-Chapple, M.S. is a long-time practitioner of yoga and meditation. She completed the Community Dharma Leader program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in 2008 and is on the Teacher’s Council of InsightLA. Maureen leads InsightLA's Tuesday night Sitting Group at LMU in the Marymount Center and teaches classes in the Mindful USC program at USC and at InisghtLA.
