Please join us for an in-person Q&A with Loyola High alums The Malloy Brothers as they present a special advance screening of their latest feature from IFC Films.

Medina (Maika Monroe) is a defiant, awkward newcomer to the affluent beach community of Palos Verdes, California. As her parents' marriage disintegrates, her mother (Jennifer Garner) spirals into an emotional freefall, and her twin brother (Cody Fern) turns to drugs.  Caught in the middle of it all, Medina surfs to survive - finding a bitter solace in the rough comfort of the waves. Based on the novel by Joy Nicholson, The Tribes of Palos Verdes is a stirring look at how life’s greatest challenges forge who we become.

The Malloy Brothers were named as part of Variety Magazines 2017 "Ten Directors to Watch" list based on the critical accalim The Tribes of Palos Verdes received on the festival circuit. The self-taught sibling directors résumé boasts an impressive range of work, including music videos for The White Stripes, N.E.R.D. and Foo Fighters.  They have also directed an array of documentaries and commercials, including the Nike ad honoring LeBron James’ return to Cleveland.

Presented by Campus Recreation and Student Activities and the School of Film and Television.

Please note: No photography with personal devices can be used during the screening. Thank You!
