There are a number of Loyola Universities but we're the only Loyola Marymount. Where did the Marymount come from? What is the M in LMU? In honor of the birthday anniversary of Fr. Jean Gailhac, the founder of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary (RSHM) order, join us for a presentation of a student research project about the history of the RSHM Sisters, Marymount College, and the Loyola/Marymount merger, as well as what that Marymount legacy means for LMU today. We will also share what the Marymount Institute is doing to carry on that mission of a liberal education grounded in the humanities and arts and to form women leaders. The Marymount Center opens at 5pm with light refreshments, with the program beginning at 5:30pm. RSVP appreciated.
