To celebrate International Education Week, ONIF is highlighting a variety of study abroad funding and opportunities available for Summer 2022, Fall 2022, and AY2022-2023*.

Scholarships discussed include the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship Program, Freeman-ASIA Award, Fund for Education Abroad, LMU's Study Abroad Financial Assistance Grant, and more. ONIF will also highlight other unique experiences abroad like the Fulbright UK Summer Institutes, Cultural Vistas, and DAAD RISE.

Gilman offers up to $8,000 for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide.

Freeman-ASIA offers up $7,000 for U.S. citizens or permanent residents studying at the undergraduate level, who demonstrate financial need to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia.

Fund for Education Abroad scholarships range from $1,250 – $10,000 and can be applied for programs that run for at least 28 days.

LMU's Study Abroad Financial Assistance Grant supports undergraduate students who have financial need and are participating in LMU approved programs. The award is based on financial need and a project proposal. Grant amounts will vary and are placed directly into your student account to go towards the program fee.

The Fulbright UK Summer Institutes are three to four week programmes for US freshmen or sophomore college students, who have no or very little travel experience outside North America. Participants can explore the culture, heritage and history of the UK while experiencing higher education at a UK university.

Cultural Vistas is a fully-funded fellowship program affording underrepresented U.S. university students the opportunity to intern for eight weeks with organizations in Argentina, Germany, or Southeast Asia.

DAAD RISE offers undergraduate students from North American, British and Irish universities the opportunity to complete a summer research internship at top German universities and research institutions.

LMU undergraduates, especially those with financial need, are invited to learn more about these study abroad scholarships, including eligibility requirements and application timelines.
