The 2025-26 Bellarmine Forum presents  "Reframing LA: Historical Roots and Urban Imaginaries." Join us as we explore the layered history of Los Angeles, from its roots as Indigenous land and colonial settlements to the vibrant, diverse region it is today. We’ll explore how migration, industry, and culture have shaped LA’s growth, and how the stories we tell about LA influence its neighborhoods, politics, and future.

Speakers include:
Priscilla Leiva, Associate Professor of Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies and
Marne Campbell, Associate Professor and Chair of African American Studies
Moderated by Fernando J. Guerra, StudyLA Director and Professor of Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies and Political Science and International Relations

Students are invited to stay for a buffet dinner and conversation following the event.
Conversation moderated by Maricia Marquez, LMU, Class of 2027
