Swami Sivananda, yoga guru, Hindu spiritual teacher, and author of more than 200 books, established the Divine Life Society in Rishikesh in 1936. His teachings would go on to be propagated by his disciple Swami Vishnudevananda, who opened one of the first yoga centers in Los Angeles in the 1960s. It is there, at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center, one of the significant centers for yoga in Los Angeles, that participants will gather and experience yoga, satsang (community sharing), and gardening on the mornings of May 21 and 28.
