Sparky will talk about the Debt Collective, the nation's first union for debtors. This group has been at the forefront of the fight for a jubilee of all student, medical, and carceral debt.  It has also seen members win the forgiveness of their own student debt and has pioneered innovative anti-debt tactics like buying people's student debt on the market, where it sells for pennies on the dollar, and forgiving it outright.

At this event, Sparky will discuss the power of collective action around debt, what that means theoretically, and how it has played out in practice. Participation from attendees, especially around their personal feelings and experiences with debt, is strongly encouraged.
