Visit our Student Art Show: HOME[BODIES]: Bodies Within, Worlds Beyond

EXHIBIT DATES: September 1 - 17, 2025

“HOME(BODIES)” is a group exhibition featuring the work of current art therapy students exploring the relation of art and its healing power — one that links the self with the communities and experiences that propelled them to this current moment.

Through varying media and artistic expression, each artist highlights the sheer diversity in approaches to the same theme that reflect the endless potential that each one holds as a therapist.

Things have an origin. It could be a single seed, a womb, a point on a timeline that anchors the person as they push forward in life. Roots grow from these points and drink in from their surroundings. Beams support a bridge that crosses the rivers and chasms in life. Communities provide a foundation to keep a person steady as they shoot up towards the sun. This is true not just for the future therapist, but also for those that the students strive to help in their careers.

The word “home” and the word “body” are charged with meaning in the therapeutic space. The textbook definition exists only on a thin sheet of paper, a sliver of what comprises both the therapist and the client as they navigate their time together. We ask the viewer to take that sheet of paper and bend it, roll it, crumple it, creasing the uniformity and adding dimension to its concept.
