This show in the Thomas P. Kelly Student Art Gallery will feature comix that were produced over the last two years by students in several courses taught by Professor Dean Scheibel, including “Introduction to Inquiry,” “Organizational Communication,” “Qualitative Research Methods,” and an “Independent Study.”

These comix—a mix of images and words—show how students create and critique their world.  One group of these comix illustrates their creative critiques of academic work performed in the classroom (i.e., a “literature review”).  Another group of comix shows how students represent the work they perform in various organizations (e.g., sororities, Public Safety). A third group of comix tell stories about how students make sense of their educational experiences at LMU and relate these experiences to LMU’s mission statement, which focuses on the encouragement of learning, the education of the whole person, and the service of faith and promotion of justice.

Opening Reception Thursday 9/7 5:00pm - 8:00pm
