The CSJ Center for Reconciliation and Justice invites the community to participate in the 15th annual CSJ Center Symposium on February 8-11, 2027 at Loyola Marymount University.
In an era of increasing division and heightened individualism, we have lost sight of the interdependence and interconnectedness between people, institutions, and nature, which is necessary for all life to thrive. In the words of Saint (Mother) Teresa of Calcutta, “we have forgotten that we belong to each other”. The results of which have threatened peace, exasperated injustice, and inhibited solutions to the present ecological crisis.
Integral ecology, as articulated in the late-Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’, requires us to not just acknowledge the reality of interdependence, but to celebrate it as a gift. How might we realize this gift – see the connection between all things – and reconcile our actions, small and large, which may indirectly cause harm to others and to our world?
In the 2027 CSJ Center Symposium, we seek to understand the unseen networks and interdependencies of people, places, and planet, and explore how interconnectedness can be the very source of new possibilities for collective healing and flourishing.
