The Emperor of the Moon by Aphra Behn

Aphra Behn, the first professional female playwright in the world, wrote this science fiction comedy (that’s right - science fiction comedy) in 1687. Inspired by news of Galileo’s invention of the telescope, Behn’s play tells the story of the Doctor, who believes moon men will soon come to Earth, and his daughters, who attempt to convince him the young men they love are, in fact, aliens.
