- Dr. Cassidy Alvarado serves as the Director of LMU’s Office of National & International Fellowships, supporting students and alumni in identifying and applying to competitive fellowships. In June of 2022, Cassidy participated in a two-week Fulbright International Education Administrators program to South Korea where she received guided exposure to the Korean higher education system through visits to colleges and universities, as well as government agencies throughout South Korea. Cassidy graduated in May 2021 with her Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Social Justice from LMU. Her dissertation explored community college and transfer student access to nationally competitive awards, like the Gilman and Fulbright grants. She also earned an M.A. in Humanities, with an emphasis in creative writing, from Mount Saint Mary's University and a B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
- Professor Luciano Manfredi Console, from Argentina, earned his double degree, B.S. in Pure Mathematics and B.S. in Physics, from Loyola Marymount University. Later, he received his Master's of Advanced Studies in Pure Mathematics from the University of Cambridge. He published “Quasinormal Modes of Modified Gravity (MOG) Black Holes" and “Horizon Wavefunction of Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) Black Holes" and presented his research at various national and international conferences. Upon completing his master's degree, he has been an instructor in the Mathematics departments at Loyola Marymount University.
- Melanie Ojwang is a graduate student in the Writing and Producing for Television program. Originally from Maryland, she received her BA in English and Sociology from McDaniel College. This is Melanie's second year with the LMU Writing Center. Previously, she worked at her alma mater's Writing Center throughout undergrad and taught English as a recipient of a 2016 Fulbright ETA award to India. Melanie is excited about the collaborative aspect of sessions. While her favorite area is creative writing, she enjoys brainstorming and helping students develop their voice across subjects.
- Amber Yi-Hua Shih is a Fulbright FLTA (Foreign Language Teaching Assistant) from Taiwan. She oversees Chinese drill session, which is focusing on practicing Chinese speaking and writing skills. Being a Chinese teacher has been her goal since she was very young. She loves to communicate with people and has great enthusiasm to share her professional knowledge. As a Fulbright FLTA, she also takes two courses this semester. She enjoys learning with intelligent and diligent students here in LMU. It’s a great pleasure to be a FLTA in LMU. She’ll keep sharing language and cultural knowledge with LMU students!
