Subtitled “A Parable Play,” Brecht’s political satire chronicles the rise of Arturo Ui, a fictional mobster in Chicago in the thirties who attempts to dominate the cauliflower market through violence, fear, intimidation and threats. An allegory for the rise of Adolf Hitler, the play is a stunning and savage indictment of demagoguery. Directed by Jim Holmes.
