In celebration of Earth Day, the LMU Center for Religion and Spirituality invites you to join this live discussion with Paulist Fathers Gil Matinez and Ted Vierra, hosted by Instructor Mark Mitchell, on their experience of nature, awe, and God. They will explore how nature elicits both comfort and fear, Laudato Si and its call to action, and suggestions for deepening one's relationship with nature.

About the Speakers
Rev. Gil Martinez, C.S.P. is a former forest ranger and has been a Paulist for over 20 years. Presently pastor at St. Paul the Apostle in Westwood, he accompanies families of the parish for a week of camping in Yosemite.

Mark Mitchell, L.M.F.T. is an instructor at LMU Extension, a National Geographic educator, and a former wilderness survival instructor. He has studied post traumatic growth, and enjoys hiking, camping, and botanical gardens.

Rev. Ted Vierra, C.S.P. is a  geologist and has been a Paulist priest for over 59 years, currently in residence at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Westwood. Now retired, this resident "sage" at St. Pauls spends his time enjoying his garden.
