About this Event
1 LMU Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90045
Join the Department of Women's and Gender Studies for our annual Fall Reception! This year, we are featuring LMU WGST alum Blake Colton and the Feminist Front's National Membership Chair, Darlene Moreno! Darlene Moreno is an LA-based Latinx/e poet, feminist organizer, and activist who has extensive experience working with immigrant and BIPOC communities. As Membership Chair of Feminist Front, Darlene hopes to engage a new generation of feminists around issues of racial, reproductive, and gender justice. LMU alum and WGST graduate Blake Colton (Class of 2019) is currently an interdisciplinary health educator and medical student who conducts research into HIV/AIDS, healthcare disparities, and improving access to preventative technologies for all.
Enjoy button making and art supplies to make feminist/political pins and buttons! Attendees are encouraged to bring magazine clippings or other texts they might want to use in button making. This is an excellent opportunity to socialize and network with like-minded students, faculty, activists, and friends of the Department! Refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there!
Our Fall Reception will take place September 29th at 4:30pm in the WGST Village (UNH 3500).
