The Law School's library, located in the northwest corner of campus, houses nearly 600,000 volumes and a Computer Resource Center with 85 workstations. It is one of the largest private law libraries in the Western United States. What is now the library was previously Loyola Law School's sole building. Gehry thoughtfully integrated this previously designed structure to fit his vision of the campus. “[Gehry] cleared walls to make flowing space, cut a long skylight into the roof to let sunshine penetrate the central reading room, and installed his trademark tables of sandwiched plywood.” Small glimpses of this building's past are still evident. What is now the Computer Resource Center was formerly the law school's chapel. The remnants of the chapel are still evident in the beautiful stained glass facade in the main computer lab.
